About Us

Enhancing Our Community

Founded in 2006, the Brandon Community Foundation is a permanent charitable endowment created by and for the Brandon community. As an affiliate of the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, gifts to the Foundation are invested for long-term growth, creating a lasting source of support for local organizations, projects and ideas.

Each year, a portion of the fund is returned to the community through grants that support the arts, recreation, health, education, public safety and other efforts that improve quality of life throughout the Brandon Valley area.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Brandon Community Foundation is to partner and collaborate with area residents to build a brighter tomorrow through philanthropy, investing in nonprofits and ideas that improve and enrich the quality of life for all ages through the arts, recreation, health, education, public safety and more.

Our Story

We remain grateful to the individuals and businesses whose leadership, generosity and belief in Brandon made this work possible.

In 2006, a group of community-minded Brandon residents came together around a simple but forward-looking idea: create a permanent resource that would help make Brandon a better place for generations to come.

Led by a shared belief in the power of local philanthropy, these founding members established the Brandon Community Foundation as a permanent charitable endowment. Rather than supporting only one project or one moment in time, they created a fund designed to grow, give back and continue serving the community year after year.

Their vision created a lasting way for individuals, families and businesses to invest in Brandon — and laid the foundation for the hundreds of grants and community projects supported since.

Their Vision Continues

What began with a small group of local residents has grown into a permanent community resource. Today, donors, volunteers, businesses and nonprofit organizations continue the work our founders began — building an endowment that can respond to Brandon's needs and opportunities for generations to come.
